Vintage Report : 2006

Margaret River - 6/10
Not a great year. The coldest December on record followed by the coolest summer in 45 years resulted in a protracted growing season. Intermittent rainfall proved beneficial to start off with, but March rains hampered the harvest. Although problematic for reds the vintage was not so bad for chardonnay.

Great Southern - 6/10
A very ordinary vintage marked by cool wet conditions throughout the growing season. Prolonged ripening resulted in fruit being picked six weeks later than usual. Autumn rains hampered vintage resulting in wines of moderate quality. Expect elegant wines with lower than usual alcohols.
