Vintage Report : 2004

Margaret River - 10/10
A cold winter was followed by mild to warm conditions. Only 50-100mm of rainfall over six months stressed some vines. Although very hot, scorching weather arrived close to vintage this was a slow ripening year. (Most chardonnays were fortunately already in the tank). This is potentially an exceptional year.

Great Southern - 8/10
A really good vintage. The growing season was marked by generally cool temperatures and even ripening. The generally calm weather allowed excellent fruit set. Dry conditions prevailed with top up rains keeping soil moistures at optimum levels. Humidity levels did increase towards the end of the growing season, but the best vineyards produced some outstanding fruit.
